In this article, we’ll focus exclusively on these public universities, with guaranteed scholarships ranging from full-tuition to full-ride. While the universities may require a certain high school GPA, they are generally pretty close to automatic. Get recognized as a National Merit Finalist, get a sweet scholarship.

University of Alabama: Full tuition for five years for undergraduate and graduate studies, four years of on-campus housing, $3,500 annual stipend for four years, $2,000 for summer research or international study, and $2000 book scholarship
University of Alabama at Birmingham: Full tuition for four years, one year of housing, one-time $1,000 scholarship, and $2,500 for experiential learning
University of Alabama at Huntsville: Full tuition for four years, course fee stipend (up to $1,000), housing allowance, board allowance
Arizona State University: Full tuition, research and travel stipend
Northern Arizona University: Full tuition (fees not covered), $2,000 total stipend
University of Arizona: Award over full tuition
Southern Arkansas University: $5,500 a semester, just over the out-of-state tuition cost
University of Arkansas: $10,000 annually (in-state average tuition is under $8,000) + 90% out-of-state tuition difference waiver
Florida A&M University: Full tuition, fees, housing, board, books for four years
Florida Atlantic University: Up to full cost of attendance
Florida International University: Full tuition, fees, room and board, up to the cost of attendance
University of Central Florida: Full ride
University of South Florida: Full cost of attendance
University of West Florida: Full tuition and mandatory fees, a meal plan, on-campus housing, an $800 per-semester textbook stipend and a one-time paid summer research or study abroad experience valued at up to $1,500
University of Idaho: Full tuition, room and board
Wichita State University: $50,000 over four years
Murray State University: Full tuition, room and board
University of Kentucky: Full tuition plus a two-year housing stipend of $10,000 per year
Louisiana Tech University: Unlimited awards which pay tuition, fees, on-campus housing, and meals for four years.
University of Maine: Full tuition, fees, room and board
University of Minnesota Morris: Full tuition for four years
Mississippi State University: Full tuition for four years plus a $2,000 honors scholarship, $6,000 finalist scholarship, and on-campus housing
University of Mississippi: Full tuition, room and board
University of Southern Mississippi: Scholarship is equivalent to tuition, campus housing, meal plan, and a $500 semester educational allowance for four years. Finalists will also receive a one-time $4,000 study abroad scholarship.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln: Full tuition
New Jersey Institute of Technology: Full tuition and fees
University of New Mexico: Full tuition, fees, housing, and an iPad
Oklahoma State University: A five-year full tuition waiver and a combination of state, university, and National Merit funding
University of Oklahoma: Full tuition for four years, $5,500 freshman housing scholarship, $5,500 annually for fees, books, room and board, $5,000 cash stipend, $1,000 technology and textbook stipend, $1,000 research and study abroad stipend
University of Tulsa: Full tuition, room and board, textbooks, fees, and a $6,000 stipend per year
Texas A&M University: Out-of-state tuition waiver and $43,000 over four years (just under the average cost of tuition), with other potential stacking scholarships
Texas Tech University: 100% of federally approved cost of attendance including tuition, fees, room, board, books, transportation and a personal/miscellaneous allowance
University of Houston: Full tuition and fees + $3,000 for study abroad and research
